A Note Regarding Washington, D.C.

Good Morning, Everyone,

I hope that you are enjoying a great start to your Thursday.  I wanted to take a moment to address the events at the United States Capitol building yesterday.  When events like this occur they can be deeply distressing to many of us. While we find ourselves in the throes of a variety of emotions as adults, sometimes we forget that our kids are watching, too. They may have their own anxieties, worries, and wonderings and are looking to us for help.

For those of you in our community who may be wondering what to do, what to say, or how to process yesterday's events with your children, I have attached guidance from the National Association of School Psychologists. I share it in the spirit of offering assistance to you should you need it. I wish you a great end of week and upcoming weekend.

Thank you for your continued support of the Auburn Public Schools.

Most Sincerely,

Casey
