Excellence in Education ... By Putting Students First.
Message from the Superintendent
The Auburn Public Schools...a District Committed to Excellence
Thank you for visiting the website of the Auburn Public Schools and welcome to the 2016-2017 school year.  It promises to be another positive and productive year!
Over the past several years, the Auburn Public Schools has expereinced numerous changes, yet our commitment to our students and their success has been unwavering, along with our commitment to high standards and to working closely with the parents of our students and the entire Auburn community, in general.
The former Julia Bancroft and Mary D. Stone Schools were returned to the Town as they were no longer needed as educational facilities, with the new Auburn Middle School opening at the start of the 2015-2016 school year.  The students and staff of the former Mary D. Stone School transitioned to the Pakachoag School, with the former Julia Bancroft and Pakachoag students and staff merging at the "old" middle school which was renamed to the Swanson Road Intermediate School.
As a school district, we believe that the students of Auburn deserve nothing less than the very best we have to offer them in terms of academic offerings, a safe environment, athletic and fine arts opportunities, and various extracurricular programs.

We believe in supporting and challenging our students to reach their full potential and take great pleasure in recognizing them for their efforts to achieve excellence. Curriculum is aligned with state frameworks, Advanced Placement (AP) and honors courses are offered, and the promotion of high expectations defines each level of our educational program.

We believe our students deserve to learn and grow in a physically and emotionally safe environment.  To that end, we have a Safety Team comprised of representatives of the police, fire and school departments.  This team meets regularly to assess our buildings and programs, offering suggestions on how improvements can provide further enhancement.

We believe our students should be engaged learners, not only in the classroom, but also well beyond.  The fine arts are promoted and our students perform and compete both locally and with peers across the Commonwealth, making Auburn proud as they achieve at new heights.  Auburn has a long tradition of supporting a broad range of athletic offerings, many teams excelling in their respective divisions to playoff and championships levels, again speaking to Auburn’s commitment to excellence.

The Auburn Public Schools is a district committed to excellence.  We greatly appreciate the support of the Auburn community and commit to continuing to earn that support.

Yours in Education,

Maryellen Brunelle, Ed.D.
