Hello Auburn Families and Staff!
We were so pleased with the overall turnout for Family/Teacher Conferences held on Wednesday, November 2nd. Teachers and administrators are committed to partnering with families to ensure the success of our students. If you were unable to attend, and would still like to meet with your child’s teacher or administrator, please reach out to the school and they will arrange that for you. Today I am reporting (2 ) positive COVID 19 cases for Wednesday, November 2nd-Friday November 4th. The total number of positive cases for this week are ( 4).
We are in the process of hiring a full time float District School Nurse due to a resignation. This position would be based primarily at Auburn High School and would provide coverage and support in other school nursing offices as needed. Our pay is commensurate with the applicant's experience. If you or you know of someone who would like to join a terrific team of nurses, please apply! The Elks Basketball Free Throw Contest is open to all boys and girls ages 8 through 13, as of April 1, 2023**. There is no charge to participate. The boy and girl in each age group, with the best score, will advance to the next level of competition in January 2023. After four tiers of competition the national finals will be held in Chicago in April 2023.

Substitute Nurses
The Auburn Public Schools is looking for substitute School Nurses. If you are a Registered Nurse or know someone who is and are interesting in working in our school buildings, please contact either Kerri Astrella, Lead Nurse, at kastrella@auburn.k12.ma.us or Alan Keller, Assistant Superintendent, at akeller@auburn.k12.ma.us. Substitute RNs receive a daily rate of $ 30/hour and you get to work with our amazing students and staff.
Substitute Teachers and Support Staff
The Auburn Public Schools is looking for substitute teachers and support staff. If interested, please come to 5 West Street to complete an employment application. Applications are reviewed and training is provided to qualified candidates. Applicants should have an Associate or Bachelor's degree. You are able to select the days you work to make it convenient for your schedule.
I am also happy to share that on February 16, 2022, the School Committee voted to approve an increase to the rates of pay for anyone who substitutes in our school buildings. I have included the new rates below. Anyone interested in becoming a substitute for the APS should apply on SchoolSpring.
