Happy Friday! The sun is shining and I am pleased to have completed my first two days as the proud Superintendent of the Auburn Public Schools. I have been overwhelmed by all of the well wishes I have received from families and staff…THANK YOU for all of the support! As I have said many times, the Auburn Public Schools is a great place to work and to learn. APS is a place where we put kids first, we support and care for one another, we are committed to continuous improvement, and we value the partnership we have with our families. I wish you all a fun-filled and relaxing weekend and I look forward to our work together. AUBURN ROCKS!

Auburn School Day Games Fundraisers
Dine out for an AMAZING cause! Please join us in supporting the Auburn Unified School Day Games on May 4th at Red Robin between the hours of 5:00- 8:00 PM. Please bring the voucher to the Blackstone Valley Shoppes and enjoy a great meal! Our second dine-out date is May 12th at Chili’s between the hours of 11 AM to 11 PM. Please mention or show the flyer when ordering. Thank you very much for supporting the Auburn Unified School Days Games!
Now through May 16th we will be holding a fundraiser hosted by Pampered Chef!! Thirty percent of the proceeds on orders from now through May 16th will be donated to the Special Olympics on behalf of Auburn's Unified School Day Games as long as at least $650.00 total is raised. 2022-2023 Before & After School Childcare Program
The Auburn Public Schools will again operate the Satellite and Galaxy Before and After School Programs for the 2022-2023 school year. These programs will provide quality care and supervised homework/extended learning activities for children both before and after school. Registration for these programs is open through August 12,2022 to ensure that ample staff are in place to provide supervision. Auburn Youth Cheerleading
Auburn Youth Cheerleading will hold Meet and Greet Sign ups on May 10, 2022 from 6:30pm - 8:00pm at Lemansky Field. This is for grades K-9, no experience necessary! Reach out with any questions through AYFCHEER2022@gmail.com or find us on Facebook at Auburn AYF Cheer.
Town of Auburn Flag Design Committee
The Auburn Select Board voted to establish a committee to solicit input and review potential designs for a new Town of Auburn flag. Committee members must be residents of the Town of Auburn and must be registered voters in the Town of Auburn.
Term for each member will commence upon appointment and expire June 30, 2023.

Substitute Nurses
The Auburn Public Schools is looking for substitute School Nurses. If you are a Registered Nurse or know someone who is and are interesting in working in our school buildings, please contact either Leah Gauthier, Lead Nurse, at lgauthier@auburn.k12.ma.us or Beth Chamberland, Assistant Superintendent, at echamberland@auburn.k12.ma.us. Substitute RNs receive a daily rate of $ 150 and you get to work with our amazing students and staff.
Substitute Teachers and Support Staff
The Auburn Public Schools is looking for substitute teachers and support staff. If interested, please come to 5 West Street to complete an employment application. Applications are reviewed and training is provided to qualified candidates. Applicants should have an Associate or Bachelor's degree. You are able to select the days you work to make it convenient for your schedule.
I am also happy to share that on February 16, 2022, the School Committee voted to approve an increase to the rates of pay for anyone who substitutes in our school buildings. I have included the new rates below. Anyone interested in becoming a substitute for the APS should contact Kate Flynn at kflynn@auburn.k12.ma.us or come to 5 West Street to complete an employment packet. All candidates then complete a short orientation with me and they can be entered into ReadySub, our substitute management system.
- Day to Day Substitute $105.00/day
- Day to Day-DESE Certified $110.00/day
- Retire Auburn Certified Teacher $115.00/day
- DESE Certified Long Term Teacher Substitute 1-29 Days $115.00/day
- DESE Certified Long Term Teacher Substitute 31-90 Days $150.00/day
- DESE Certified Long Term Teacher Substitute 91+ days BA Step 1-per AEA contract
- Instructional Assistants $80.00/day($12.30/hour)
- ABAs $90.00/day($12.85/hour)
