School Counseling Notifications

Dear Auburn High School Students and Families,

In the wake of the news surrounding the coronavirus and our school closure, the counseling office acknowledges that feeling anxious and stressed in these rapidly changing times is normal. It is important that you take care of yourselves, and monitor your own physical and mental health. We understand that the news may feel overwhelming, but being mindful of yourself and others while working to maintain a balanced daily routine may help. Please refer to this link for a list of resources: Resource Links for COVID-19 and Social Distancing

In the event of a mental health emergency, please call 911, go to your local emergency room or contact Community Health Link (Emergency Mental Health Services) at 1(800) 977-5555.

For all students entering grades 9-11 please complete your course requests for the 2020/2021 school year by Friday March 20th. Instructions

Additionally the suggestions below may be good for anyone, and are particularly timely for:

  • Keep up with your studies
  • Take a look at the scholarships listed in Naviance and www.fastweb.com
  • Colleges have begun changing Deposit Deadlines beyond May 1 for admitted students.

Juniors

  • Identifying “Colleges I’m Thinking About” in Naviance by using Super Match, CollegeBoard, or Niche search engines.
  • Complete the junior activity survey.
  • Consider registering for an upcoming SAT or ACT (we suggest that you sign up for an exam - in the event it is canceled, you will be refunded.  May testing date is canceled but June is still open)
  • If you were planning on college tours, many colleges are cancelling tours, open houses, and admitted student programs this spring. Please check EACH INDIVIDUAL SCHOOL for any changes in programming.
